About Us

School District 91’s International Program is purposefully small to ensure a uniquely personalized experience.  International students can choose between our four communities depending on personal interests and will be placed with a quality homestay family.

Nechako School District 91

Nechako Lakes School District provides educational services to just over 4000 students in beautiful Northern British Columbia.  Our communities of Vanderhoof, Fort St. James, Fraser Lake and Burns Lake are all small communities (less than 10 000 people) that are known for their natural beauty.  We are fortunate to be surrounded by a variety of pristine lakes and rivers.

We enroll just over 4000 students between our 3 high schools, 3 elementary – secondary schools, 11 elementary schools and our province wide virtual school (EBUS Academy.)

We are a public school district that is accredited by the Province of British Columbia.

Dogwood Certificate

The majority of our International students join us for the full three year graduation program which leads to a British Columbia Dogwood Diploma.  In order to graduate in British Columbia students are required to pass specific courses which are described in the graduation planner.

The Dogwood Diploma is recognized world wide and will assist students in obtaining entry to a variety of post secondary programs.

Our International Students are assisted with the graduation planning exercise by certified counsellors in each of our secondary schools.
